By TwoWeims from Prescott, Arizona on 02/01/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are really comfortable! I even wear them around the house. They are very different from other boots, but I have had no trouble adjusting to them. They seem to be helping my posture and knees. All the muscles from the gluts on down seem to be more active and engaged with these boots. It seems a bit more like a cardio workout walking the hills in our neighborhood than standard footwear. One caveat: my husband has a neuroma and tried them out. We went for a short walk and wearing MBTs seem to aggravate the neuroma a lot. His foot hurt so badly that we had to cut our walk short. I'm not sure if that is unique to him or if it would be a problem for anyone with a neuroma...it bears further investigating before investing in these shoes though.

By She of Painful Feet, Who Stands All Day from Ohio on 01/08/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Read up on these and consider them. I've got lots of foot "issues;" plantar fasciitis, Achille's tendon problems, tailor's bunions. These shoes are great. They do take a bit of getting used to, but after only a few days, wearing them longer each day, I noticed I was getting out of bed with very little pain, and that the familiar throbbing pain of evenings was no longer there, keeping me awake. Also noticed I was actually looking forward to putting them on, and would wear them after my evening shower...amazing, as usually I couldn't wait to get whatever I was wearing off my feet for good at the end of the day. It remains to be seen whether these will also help with hip, knee and back issues as many have testified, but just the relief for my feet is worth everything. They don't feel "too wide," and yet do not make my bunions hurt much (I'll still need to stretch the right one just a bit), which almost every pair of shoes I've ever tried does--so I would say true to width, but maybe just a bit wider where I need it, across the wide front of the foot. They are pricy, but I felt comfortable getting them from Sierra [...] No way I'll send them back!I'm not sure about wearing them for trail use, because of the inherent "instability," which is part of how they work. But they do feel quite stable and secure side-to-side, so they may work ok on reasonable terrain. Also not sure yet about water resistance; I've worn them in snow and it kind of stuck to them, so I'll probably spray them with something. Have not worn in really wet conditions yet. They are GREAT for walking on concrete, though! That's tougher on my feet than hiking ever is.
By Sue from Cedar Park, TX on 01/06/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Good dry trail Traction Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: While the purpose of the MBT mechanism allows the feet (consequently the person) to rock/roll, I found the boot to have unusually good traction on the rocky trails of Big Bend. I did order a half-size larger (as I do with all my hiking/backpacking boots) so they fit just right going up/down steep trails.
By canadienerrant from SC beaches on 01/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Anything MBT makes is worth trying. I have had foot problems (plantar, splayed, metatarsal)that have held me back. These boots solve all those problems. The rocking sole is a little unsteady until you get used to it, particularly when jumping. But if foot problems have kept you back, buy these boots! Comfy - a-a-a-h!
