AND CLEARER By DELL29 from LAKE PLACID, NEW YORK on 06/13/2008 Best Uses: Astronomy, Bird Watching, Security Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: SUPERIOR QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE, A BIT HEAVY FOR AN ALL DAY EXCURISION HANGING AROUND YOUR NECK, BUT FOR CLARITY AND DURABILITY, AT THIS PRICE, OR MAYBE HUNDREDS MORE, THIS IS THE BEST.
By Retired Boater from Thousand Islands, Ontario on 05/28/2008 Pros: MIL Spec Construction, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Used on large steel hull trawler yacht so don't need built in compass as it cannot be properly compensated. They are the best binoculars I have on board.
Great binocs for a great price By Bucky from Salt Lake City on 01/13/2008 Pros: Auto-focus, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Works Well With Glasses Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This model is similar to the Steiner military R (#538) or military R LPF (#539). They have neither the reticle or the laser protection filter. However, for birdwatching, they are an excellent pair of binoculars. The lenses are of excellent quality and they weigh about half the weight of the #538 or #539. The best part is not having to re-focus every time you look at something.
By CWB from Oxnard, CA on 01/01/2008 Pros: Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Works Well With Glasses Best Uses: Astronomy, In dim light Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Really a nice binocular - I use it mostly for astronomy, for viewing good size chunks of sky, and as a wide field adjunct to my telescopes. Other uses are secondary; I expect to reach for these when light is dim - early or late in the day. Very high quality optics, and very bright image. This is basically a full-size binocular; for daytime use and on the trail I carry a compact binocular.

I think that these binoculars are the best balance of price and quality.
