Comments: This pack is perfect for day mountaineering trips. Plenty of room for crampons, ice axes, extra layers, food, and water. Even skis, or a board and avy gear. I was impressed at how well it stayed in place during the ascent, loaded down, as well as the descent.

Comments: This is a really well-thought-out pack. I got it for alpine skiing with the kids (they always seem to have brought too many or too few clothes with them and need to add or shed a layer or two). I've since found that, althought it is on the small size for backcountry day ski trips, I can get all of the essentials in it, including emergency gear (thanks to the well-sized shovel pocket) with absolutely no room to spare. You can also pull the back padding out to extend the capacity a bit further as well.
