By Foxhunter from Maryland on 05/26/2008 Pros: Durable, Stable, Warm Cons: Back zipper sticks, Calf is too wide, Too Stiff, Uncomfortable Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Stylish Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are made for a man: big, bulky, enormous calf size. Also, the back zipper is stiff and cumbersome. I felt like Herman Munster in them.
By Snowbunny from UK on 01/11/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Stain Resistant, Warm Best Uses: Riding Country Walking, Wet Weather Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I live in England and needed some boots that were weather proof for puddle splashing with my young daughter, but formal enough to wear into town whether with pants tucked in or under a skirt. These are great with both. If you plan on tucking pant legs into yours regularly, make sure you allow for this when measuring the calf size.
My US size is 8, my European size is 39, so they ran true to European sizing, but were 1 size too small in American sizing.
The zips on mine were unbelievably stiff down near the heels. I bought an inexpensive can of spray silicone grease (won't destroy the rubber) from an electronics store and the zips work great now. The boots do come with a little spray can of rubber polish, but it isn't labelled as silicone grease & as I wasn't sure, I didn't spray this on the boots.
Friends of mine with these boots swear by them and now I know why -- they are just comfy, practical & great looking. The price here is also a fraction of the European price too.
By J the rider from Southern CA on 12/17/2007 Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Stylish Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots were huge, not to size per the sizing chart. Not only was the footbed huge, but the calves were very wide. I returned them and didn't reorder because the calves wouldn't have ever been narrow enough. Also, I felt they were rather expensive for a standard rubber riding boot. I wasn't impressed.
By Nick from Oakland, CA on 11/29/2007 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Luxury Best Uses: Riding, Shooting, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: High-end shopper Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Comments: Leather lined Le Chameau rubber boots are the best of their kind in the world, no other is as comfortable for walking. [...]If you are even slightly interested, you should certainly risk ordering them at least for a try while they last. I did for my wife, who rides, and they are definitely not going back!

Bravo [...]. If you have a horse, hope they have your size. If they do you will throw out your others. This is luxury wrapped in easy care rubber.
