By Ski Pow from Utan on 12/06/2007 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Water Resistant Cons: Foot bed too hard, Not comfortable like H2, Runs small Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The Ouray is OK for casual wear and light day hikes.
It runs short in length.
The foot bed does not cushion well hiking and I had to put an after market foot bed in for comfort.
I love the comfort of the Keen H2 sandals for hiking and casual wear and the Ouray is disappointing.
By Karl the Long-toed from Denver on 10/04/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Very wide toes. Cons: Heel slipage, Sole Wears Out Quickly Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have exceptionally long toes, and these fit well. In fact Keens and ECCO's are the only shoes I will wear, from now on.
But the heel/instep is a bit large for me, and they have to be laced up pretty tight to prevent heel slippage.
The upper material is sturdy and fairly water resistant. Some Nikwax treatment helped a lot.
They aren't extremely breathable.
The sole is quite sticky and soft, so naturally the are wearing out relatively rapidly. Not a big deal, and I don't feel cheated.
