Great in the snow, hard on the trail By Chasarific from Olympia, WA on 07/07/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Heavy, Not Comfortable Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I made the mistake of breaking these in on the trail up to the Inter Glacier (Mt. Rainier). I have weak heel skin to begin with so I was prepared wearing duck tape and liner socks. I still blistered. But... Once I got on the snow, these things were great! I would suggest a long, slow break in period for these boots.

By Torch from Somewhere, Outthere on 06/17/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Crampon compatible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Difficult Laces, Heavy Best Uses: Cold Weather, Harsh Terrain, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Definately not the boots you want to wear on a day hike or even a weekend backpacking trip. I bring them along only if I am going to be climbing snow/ice slopes because they are wonderful with support and allow my crampons to really hug them. For what they are designed (light mountaineering) they are the best boots you'll get.

By Weekend Cascade Mountaineer from Pacific Northwest on 04/22/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Cons: Heavy, Not resoleable, Sole Wears Out Quickly Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A good quality boot, slightly but not excessively both heavy and stiff. Advised by bootsmith that resoling will be problematic and that for mountaineering the sole will not edge as well as others in its class
By Andyzee from Northern NJ on 04/15/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Haven't had a chance to give these boots a true test run yet. That will come in two weeks when I hike up Mount Washington. But have been wearing these boot on a regular basis just to get used to them. True mountaineering boots, stiff sole, waterprood, threads on soles like snow tires. I'm convinced when I take them on my hike, they'll perform as expected.
