great hiker...
By guy in maine from Portland, ME on 3/28/2008
Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Poor Grip
Best Uses:
Saltwater Fishing
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
These are great to get you to the stream but once there you are better off bare foot. As others have complained the rubber lugs defeat the felt and studs and though they will preserve the bottom of your drift boat they are horrible to wade in anything but sandy bottom stream beds. I will however say that they are adequate when fishing saltwater i.e. ledges and rocks. They require constant attention to placement of feat ensuring that the balls of your feet (where the felt and studs are) make contact with any possibly slippery surfaces. I have since modified mine by cutting about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch off of the rubber lugs and have found that this improves the boot immensely.

Not a winner
By Alaska Fisherwoman from Alaska on 3/11/2008
Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Wears Easily
Best Uses:
lawn watering
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
The felt came apart on my first trip, but I needed them, so I drove screws through them to hold them together. That lasted about three more trips. It's a shame b/c they are comfortable, but a big waste of money.

By HarrisVerified Reviewer from Rochester MN on 2/13/2008
Pros:
Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight
Best Uses:
Fly Fishing
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
On my second pair and I love them. Best winter wading boot I ever owned. Won't pile snow and are not as slippery as felt on muddy banks. Have used them in Montana, New Zealand, and home here in Minnesota with no problems.

Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Wears Easily
Best Uses:
display

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Wore them about four days fly fishing for steelhead in Michigan streams and the soles started to fall apart. After a few weeks, they disintegrated. Compare that to my last pair that lasted 10 years.

Never use these boots in or near water..
By Doug from Durango, Colorado on 11/26/2007
Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Poor Grip, Sole fell off first day
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
My wife & I bought these for use in New Zealand as there are lots of rivers where you must walk 3+miles per day. The river bottom is often slippery and the boots DO NOT work in that situation. They are o.k. for hiking. The felt area on one pair fell off the very first day they were used, as the rubber studs disintegrated the first day in use, and the studs are what keeps the felt sole in place. There is not enough felt area to keep from slipping in a river.

Maybe Good for Hiking but Not Wading
By Eastern GreenhornVerified Reviewer from Richmond,VA on 11/21/2007
Pros:
Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons:
Poor Grip
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I replaced my felt/studded wading boots w/these & took on 3 day trip on Deschutes River in Central Oregon. I didn't field test them first-big mistake. Boots sounded great but have a design flaw. Felt and studs don't extend below outer sole so no grip. The conditions were borderline hazardous and I fell constantly and went under a few times in 55 degree water. Don't buy if looking for traction in slippery conditions. I provided much amusement to my western hosts.

Best Uses:
Fly Fishing

Comments:
I've had these boots for well over a year. I have never gotten a blister from them yet. They are great for walking distances....I've walked over 3 miles and my feet were in utter bliss. I think that they grip great and offer superior support. The only drawback is I think they run a bit smaller than you order....oh, and a lil more felt would be peachy. Good boot for the price!

Poor
By rmdVerified Reviewer from Pennsylvania on 11/2/2007
Cons:
Poor Grip, Wears Easily
Best Uses:
drift boat
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
These boots are the worst boots I ever owned. The grip is terrible, and the durability is aweful. I owned the boots for a year and they need replaced already due to tearing near the toe cap. I would not recommend these boots to anyone except for people who fish from a drift boat only. If you do alot of wading/walking you will be disapointed.
