They are very comfortable and well cushioned, and do not bind around the ankle. I put in lots of miles hiking and use these particular boots for our infrequent wet and muddy weather. I don't yet have enough experience with them to comment on their durability, but I generally find that the sole Salomon uses wears somewhat faster than vibram.
