Comments: I use these for day hiking doing 8-12 miles with a 10-15 pound backpack. They are very well made and I like the fact that they don't have Gore-Tex. I've had terrible luck with boots lately, but these seem like keepers. For the full leather version, make sure you break them in *very* well before taking them on a major trip. I did not and developed heal blisters on a trip to Switzerland. Also, the stock insoles are terrible--no cushion or arch support--so plan on replacing them.

Comments: I used them today at the escarpment trail down in the catskills, it was raining for most of the hike and they held up in the rain, I did not really slip at all which was good, they are a tad on the heavy side but very sturdy, I like my boots a little heavier anyways. I'm going up to the dacks on monday and will be able to try them out more then, but so far they have been really great, a couple more outings and they should be broken in. Very happy with the purchase:)

Comments: I spent a few years in the army, was an infantry officer. So I have had my share of bad boots. This boot is perfect for my use – moderate to tough trails on 4 to 8 hour hikes. Light enough to jog, great support, and very waterproof. Great on inclines and declines, without slipping. Crossed a few streams and did not get wet. Leather looks good enough to wear to a movie or even a casual meal. May run a half size too small I normally wear a 10.5 so I ordered an 11 and fits great. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Good luck and happy hiking.

Comments: This is my second pair of Alicos. I wore my last pair until they truly wore out. I really wish I would've hopped on these when 10.5s were available, but I can live with a 10. Totally solid boot, and the ability to resole them is great. Hiking nearly everyday in Alaska, I am picky about what I've got on my feet. I haven't found a better boot than this.

Comments: These boots won hands down in a comparison to Vasque Sundowners. I am tempted to get another pair of these in case these ever wear out. Since they are re-soleable and made with primo leater I may never need another pair.

Comments: I use my Alico Tahoes for a variety of backpack trips (on- and off-trail) in northern AZ and southern UT. Best feature: very grippy soles, which give me needed confidence and security on high-exposure slickrock routes. My first pair of soles lasted only four years; maybe that's the flip side of their great traction. Unfortunately I wore them down too far for resoling. I'll be smarter about that on my second pair. Overall, this all-leather boot is very supportive and comfortable once broken in (which takes a while). The advantage of a leather boot, rather than a leather/fabric type is that it will eventually conform to your foot. This is especially important for those of us with "non-standard" feet (wide forefoot, high arch, narrow heel in my case). Properly cared for they should last for many years and many resolings.

Comments: Rugged construction. Takes some breaking in but won't fall apart like the ones that feel like tennies.Appropriate oil treatments take care of the break-in and waterproofing. If you value your feet and legs, you will not be disappointed.
