By Karen from Ketchikan, AK on 07/02/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly, High visibility Cons: Hard To Put On Or Take Off Best Uses: Boating, Paddling Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm not a competive athlete but none of the choices apply and I use this for work purposes and love the features. I have one of the older skanoraks in an anorak style and I've always loved it. I haven't really tested this one out but the price was right. The material seems lighter weight than my old one so I'll have to wait to see if it's as beefy.
Well made, great boating jacket By sspud from South Carolina on 06/17/2008 Pros: Breathable, color-reflectiveis a plus, Comfortable, Easy To Put On And Take Off Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Color-reflective tape--a plus...so far don't see a problem
Good product at the right price By Rich from Freehold from Cape May NJ on 06/03/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Easy To Put On And Take Off Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use it when I go out surf casting along with chestwaders. At low tide you can walk out into the surf close to 100 yards where a wave can nail you. Also in between the sand bars the depth can drop a couple of feet. It keeps the water off of me. I would rate the product super if the elastic bands were on the outside and there were inner neoprene cuffs. The inner elastic bands are a little difficult to use.
Great for Cool weather kayak fishing By SB Yakfisher from Santa Barbara, CA on 04/22/2008 Pros: Adjustable Fit, Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Easy to see on the water Cons: Hard To Put On Or Take Off, Sticky zipper Best Uses: Boating, Paddling Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The cuffs can be tricky to get your hands through, and the over-lap style wrist closure tends to leak unless you have it cinched down really tight. Other than these minor drawbacks, this jacket is a winner for cooler weather. I wear it weekly for all-day kayak fishing excursions along the California shoreline, and it has taken me through some pretty "snotty weather" days as well as days that start out sunny, calm, and beautiful, but then get chilly as the afternoon comes on. This jacket is light, breathable, and very comfortable. I also abuse it with fish slime and all sorts of nasty goo while kayak fishing, and it has held up remarkably well in its first season of use. I just rinse it off and hang it out to dry and it still looks great.
Great jacket for the price . By Gene from New York on 04/05/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend As indicated it is a jacket that you will be seen in
so that other boaters won,t have a reason to miss you, which is handy when you are in a low riding kayak .
Great Kayaking Foul Weather Jacket! By Kayak or Bust! from Connecticut on 03/29/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Put On And Take Off Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great design, the pockets on the side are pretty high, very water proof. I generate allot of heat, will probably be too hot unless cold out. Wish it had pit zips, but will definitely be part of my cold weather paddling gear. XL good for 240lb, 6'.

By sciototrails from Chillicothe OH on 03/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Easy To Put On And Take Off Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: With this jacket as the top layer you are prepared for the winter rains of Ohio.
Excellent for on and offshore use. By Mike from Benicia, CA on 12/03/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy To Put On And Take Off Best Uses: Boating, hiking in rain, Paddling Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend An excellent paddling jacket that does double duty as a foul weather shell for hiking and all around outdoor use. Typical quality Patagonia design and construction with easily accessed pockets, and it can be worn comfortably over or under a PFD (personal flotation device). The bright orange color will certainly help make you more visible on the water. Whether or not this color is suitable everywhere else is up to you...
The only difference between this '06 piece and the current version is the Lotus logo on the cuff and label because Patagonia dropped that brand name for their paddling gear. Also, this is a full zip parka, not an anorak like the original Skanorak.
As far as sizing goes, I'm 5'9" 170 lbs. and the medium fits me perfectly.
