By superK from washington dc on 08/17/2008 Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend I'm used to wearing birkenstocks and needed a new pair of shoes to wear to work (I work in a hospital) and tried Ulu. After a week of wearing them to work I started getting a pain in my knees. I switched back to my birkenstock clogs and the pain went away in about a week.
Still very cute shoes, would not wear for extensive walking.

I live in clogs and I'm always on the lookout for a really nice and comfortable pair, especially one with a little style. These fit the bill. They are comfortable without being too clunky. What I especially like about them it that they fit my slightly wide foot that has a really high arch. I find a lot of shoes bind either across wide part of my toes or are too tight across the top of my foot due to my high arch. These are comfortable in both those spots and great for all-day wear.

COMFY for Alaska's summer and perhaps winter too!!!!! Like the rubber soles and the bead work. These were at another store in Anchorage for twice the price. I will buy ULU shoes again - This is my first pair.

However, definitely not for warm weather wear as there's a foam lining that got very warm and sweaty. I'll save it for cold weather.

However, since I have high arches, I cannot use the included arch support inserts and without inserts, the shoes are a bit uncomfortable. I purchased my own inserts and they work great so I can enjoy how my clogs look and feel comfortable at the same time.

It literally took seconds for them to soften and they only get better with wear. But not too soft - the shape is holding up just fine. It is cold and rainy and they are great to run around in and just enough height to keep my feet above the puddles. The insole is completely removable so you could switch it out for one with more arch support - but I find that there is enough arch support for me in the existing soles. I can wear them with or without socks. They will loosen a little bit so I don't think I would go larger. I got the black and they look great with everything.
I also got the other style Ulu clog. The one without the raised stitching around the top. For some reason it is tighter and hasn't loosened up like this one did. Also the insole on that one (they both have 1/2 leather insoles) seems to have been cut with the leather sticking up in the middle and it cuts into my foot. It may just be the pair I got because the shoes really look the same except for the lack of decorative stitching on the top.
