There is no padding in the seat, but they didn't say there was. After reading other reviews I chose the medium though I usually wear a small. Glad I made that choice. They are attractive and comfortable.

I even measured myself to be sure, these shorts should have been roomy,instead they were crazy tight in waist(which is really low-cut) and hips, then they became huge.
Now lets talk about that "liner". When I hear "lined short" in the cycling short category I think Chamois,or at least a pair of lycra briefs don't you? This is just pieces lycra material sewn into the interior of the short. It is not an inner short, it's not even good lining because it bags and sags. It looks like it would make the shorts hot, which is probably why they added a mesh vent across the saddle. I sent these back.

This would have been great if the sizing was right. I'm 4'11", 95lbs and usually wear a small. This was way to big.
