By chigger from western NC on 08/06/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have returned the 2XXL for an XL. The sleeves were very long and no elastic or draw string, so they were uncomfortable. I am long armed too.
By Backpacking Guy from Ohio on 08/01/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I recently took this jacket on a backpacking trip. I love it. When it gets wet, the water rolls off instantly. It's as if water never even hit it. It's also very lightweight and packed easily into side pockets of my backpack. The only downside is that the jacket only comes to about my waist (I'm 5'11). It could use an extra inch or two in length, but other than that it's a great jacket.
Right product for the price By Fuzze Dog from Chicago, Il on 07/18/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great product at a great price. Small, lightweight and packable in a fanny pack. That was what I was looking for for under $75. This jacket fit the bill and passed my first use in wet humid weather.
By Bob the Outdoor Fanatic from Wisconsin on 04/30/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof Cons: No adjustable wrist cuff, zipper can be a pain Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Comments: This is a good product for use around town. It is a great fitting jacket but I am upset that the bottom of the coat does not have elastic to allow it to be drawn tight to the body. I also would like to see adjustable wrist cuffs on this coat as well.
light, but lacking key features By Edgework from Chicago, IL on 04/28/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket to replace my Marmot Pre-cip, along with the Go-light pants of the same Trinity material. I love the fit of both as it is very comfortable- stretchy, breathable. Normally I wouldn't gripe about trimming features for weight savings but there are a few key features missing from the jacket. No provision for closing the sleeve cuffs is a real bummer. No draw string closure for the waist either and the waist while not too short, hits right at the belt. It would be nice to have a touch more length and a draw string closure. The hood has a velcro tab to keep it down when not in use, but this seems like a silly feature when you consider the lack of the other more important ones. Also, the front zipper is tough to get open at the bottom. I have the same prblem with the full lenght leg zips on the pants. Probably even harder with gloves on. I wouldn't recomend it for serious alpine pursuits, But nice for hiking.
By Racer from Ohio on 04/28/2008 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A no nonsense waterprrof jacket. It could have more features but would then be heavier and more expensive. It is not the most breathable rainwear out there and that is the only legitimate complaint about the jacket. It does what it was made for almost perfectly.
By JEDAK from Anchorage, Alaska on 04/24/2008 Cons: Doesn't Breathe, Inadequate Protection, Not Enough Pockets or Features Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket has no wrist closures, either velcro or snaps. Water will run down your sleeves if it rains and wind protection is limited. [...]
