By AK teacher from Anchorage, AK on 08/17/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The 2X label isn't accurate. It seems to be Misses sizing not Women's plus size. I assumed it was Plus since it was listed as 2X and not XXL. It is small for this plus size woman (especially in the hips) and I have to return it.
By MuchaKoda from Nederland, CO on 07/19/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just bought this jacket in sz. L, dark brown. The color is great, and the jacket itself is very high-quality. The hood has a stiff brim so if it's raining it won't flop in your face. The collar is soft, but a little bit large looking when folded down (kinda like a ski jacket collar). Unfortunately, I think that the large fits like a medium. It's a little shorter than I thought it would be, and the sleeves ride up above my wrists when I move my arms. I really like the style, and wanted to bring it on a long hike we are taking this weekend, but I can't wear it. I usually wear a L in jackets and this one fits too small. I'm sure it would be a great jacket for someone else, maybe a more petite person.

Great, but awkward collar By Frequent traveler/hiker from Hamilton, MT on 01/14/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Lots of Pockets, Waterproof Cons: Hood is a little funky Best Uses: everyday, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Light jacket, Rain protection Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great unlined waterproof jacket with lots of bells and whistles, such as redundant zipper and velcro, zipped pockets inside and out. The only downside is that the hood and high collar makes it look very awkward if you want to wear the jacket open at the neck. The hood has a stiff brim, which is great for shaping in the rain. However, when you stow it, the collar becomes very bulky. Coupled with the standup collar (great in rain or wind), it just doesn't look right when you don't need to zip it up tight.
