By Bugsy from Minnesota on 06/23/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The legs flare out at the bottom - not even close to gripping the thigh like they are supposed to. Terrible!
By Daily DC Commuter from Washington, DC on 06/02/2008 Best Uses: Brevets, Commuting, Cyclotouring Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these Canari shorts on long rides (100 miles or more) and they do the trick. I rode these on a 760 mile in 90 hour ride (in addition to using them on ~century/day tours) and they worked for me. Chamois is not overly thick and the fabric is comfortable. I find they run true to size, perhaps a smidge on the bigger side.
Leg gap on Canari cycling shorts By bzzyb from Stillwater, OK on 05/26/2008 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Good Padding Best Uses: Road Racing, Touring, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Canari has a great reputation so I jumped on it when I saw their women's bicycling shorts on sale. The makers of these shorts, however are stretching the leg openings during sewing. They gap, look ruffley and don't touch my legs though I returned a L for a M. Unless they are snug on the leg, the short's legs don't stay down.
When the Canari dies . . . By Cycletourist from Stillwater, OK on 05/21/2008 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Good Padding Cons: Fits all but legs, Leg elastic ruffles, Leg openings don't grip, Leg openings too large, Legs improperly elasticiz Best Uses: Road Racing, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a long-distance touring cyclist and was looking for shorts for a 3,500-mile ride I'm doing this summer. Canari has a good rep but these shorts were improperly made. The leg opening elastic did not touch my leg at all, but ruffled out. I exchanged a L for a M but the leg elastic ruffled out and did not touch my leg in a M also. The fabric looked like it would be cool but stretched over the body it was semi-transparent in places. I will not buy Canari shorts again.
By Holly from Barrington, IL on 05/17/2008 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable Best Uses: Commuting, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Would have like a little more padding; still they are very comfortable biking shorts. Length is perfect -- not too short.
Not good for regular-to-slim legs By RAGBRAI chick from Ames, IA on 05/06/2008 Cons: Leg holes too loose, Not Enough Padding Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: A medium in this Canari had leg holes that were too loose -- not good for women with regular-to-slim thighs in my opinion. The chamois padding was so-so. Not good for long rides. The fit of the waist was quite nice though.
By Bikermom from Pittsfield, VT on 05/01/2008 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Good Padding Best Uses: Mountain Biking, Road Racing, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Feels great! (The only con - wish the waist had wider elastic.)
By Dawn the biker from Long Island, NY on 04/30/2008 Best Uses: Very short rides Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These shorts are comfortable to wear off the bike but forget about the "padding" when you are riding. They fit loosely which I like but wish that the pad was much more significant.
Canari Pro Cycling Shorts (For Women) by By Trail Mom from West Monroe, New York on 11/27/2007 Pros: Dries Quickly, Good Padding Cons: Do NOT like "trim fit" Best Uses: Mountain Biking Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I returned these cycle shorts as I didn't like the "trim fit" due to the waist line not being on the waist.

I went with a smaller size, and it was still slightly larger than expected. The shorts are functional and comfortable. They are of good quality. Worked well for triathlons.
