Better than I anticipated By Ms. Matters from Oregon on 08/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Washes Well, Well constructed design Cons: Falls Too Low Below The Waist, Waist is big Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Career, Casual, Eclectic, Utilitarian Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend These pants are Gramiccis. That escaped me when I ordered, or I might not have. In the past, this brand hasn't fit well. I have gained a great deal of weight due to a couple of serious health problems but don't feel like buying a lot of enormous clothes at high prices, so these wre just right.
And, they fit - I bought Large -- but are big in the waist (I have always had that problem, though, with most clothes, due to having a narrow waist and more ample hips and thighs) even when I pull them as snug as possible.
They are comfortable, even though the fabric is anything but flimsy. It's heavy weght but soft and flexible. These pants are great for moving around in due to the gusseted crotch.
Not pants for any dress-up occasion, but for many casual social gatherings or the movies, etc. they'd be fine.
By Servant to the Cat from Eagle River, Ak on 06/19/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Stylish, Washes Well Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought my last pair of these pants about 12 years ago. My old pairs are size M and fit great. I ordered an M in today's fit and they are huge! I'm 5'5" and I gave one pair to my fiance who's 6' and the length is fine on him.
By Alice from Tangent, OR on 06/09/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Washes Well Best Uses: Comfort-Oriented, Hiking, On The Weekend Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Career, Casual, Classic Bottom Line: Comments: I love Gramicci and have many pairs of their pants, but this is the first pair that wasn't true to size. Gramicci woomen's medium have always fit me nearly perfectly. I opted to keep these, hemmed them, and will wear them casually, and probably for hiking, but they won't do for work. Too bad.
By mom from Fort Bragg, CA on 05/16/2008 Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Versatile, Washes Well Best Uses: Comfort-Oriented, On a Date, On The Weekend Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I like cotton gramicci pants for everyday. I'm a stay-at-home mom and need clothes that are versatile, comfortable, and clean up easily. I like the gusset that allows full range of motion. I like the gathered waist for my changing waistline. I like the cotton twill for durability, breathability, and appearance. I keep replacing these whenever I wear them out; this is my third pair in about 8 years. I wear these hiking, gardening, around town, and also for special occasions paired with a nice top.
The gathered waist is a big plus for me. I have a wide waist but relatively narrow hips, so I can get closer to my size without a saggy butt. I am short (5'3") so petite fits better but the regular women's size works if I hem several inches, or just roll them up. I like that they taper at the ankle; this is more practical and flattering for me.
By Hiker Chic from Madison, WI on 05/16/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Stylish, Washes Well Best Uses: Casual Work Days, Comfort-Oriented, On The Weekend, To School Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual, Eclectic Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As everyone else said, they run large and long. I usually wear size 10 but was feeling a little pudgy, so ordered size medium, but sent them back in exchange for a size small, and they are still plenty roomy--I would say my size small fits 10-12. Otherwise great standard Gramicci pants.
By Hiker Chic from Madison, WI on 05/11/2008 Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Stain Resistant, Stylish, Washes Well Best Uses: Casual Work Days, Comfort-Oriented, On The Weekend, To School Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual, Eclectic Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just like everyone else, I needed a size smaller than usual. And they are still pretty roomy, allowing for plenty of shrinkage in the wash.
