By vagabond from boston, ma on 08/04/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend The zip off is at a great height- often these pants zip off to shorter shorts than I would like- this zips rights below the knee, still offering some protection from thorns, rocks, and whatever else you might encounter.
Also, the fabric is very nice, with a soft, cottony feel, completly unlike many of the cheaper versions of "quickdry" pants. It feels nice, doesn't chafe, doesn't make that terrible "chuff chuff" sound as you walk, and looks good enough to wear in the city as well as the field.
The first pair I ordered had a whole in the bottom that was a lot more than just "seconds" but i called sierra trading post, and i have a new pair on the way.

Very nice pants - I would buy a 2nd pair By Bev-O from Oakhurst, CA on 07/16/2008 Pros: High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Look great, Nice features, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The sizing is hard to tell - but this is not unusual with mail-order. I had to re-order in a bigger size. Pants too long - wish more companies would offer petite. There are lots of us in the world who are 5'4"-ish. Cute, stylish, nice-looking and the colors are great.
By Casual Camper from St Paul, MN on 06/16/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased these pants to take on a camping trip and find that I wear them everywhere. They are true to size and comfortable, other than the zipper - which is uncovered. I ended up using some extra fabric from the length to sew in a zipper cover to prevent chafing from the exposed zipper.
Great looks&material, not so well made By tanby from Ohio on 05/19/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish Cons: Poor Material or Construction Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The pants looked great, the material felt like what I was looking for, and the size was right, but the inside stitching was not neat at all (and was flawed at some places). The way the zipper was attached did not seem or feel right.
By In the Hills from Woodstock, VT on 05/13/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have never seen a pair of "convertible" pants (zip off legs) that I liked until I saw these. They are very cute. The fabric is fun because it looks worn but isn't. The zippers are very good -- but the pants are very long, so when converted to shorts they are closer to capris. If you really need to go from pants to shorts, these may not do it for you.
By Garden Girl from Asheville, NC on 05/07/2008 Pros: Breathable, Color, Lightweight, Packable, Short length Cons: Poor Material or Construction, Tight in thighs Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The main problem, for me, was that the pants fit loosely at the waist but were quite tight in the thighs. I'm not all that large in the thighs. As a matter of fact, I tend to be bigger in the waist. I liked the fabric and length of the shorts (hit me right around my knees), but they just didn't fit my body.
By Tam from Martinez, CA on 05/01/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Soft and Comfy, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these pants. I bought them in sage and they fit perfectly, so I ordered another pair in gray. Be aware that the gray are cut several inches shorter, so I had to return them. But, they're great for people with not-so-long legs.

Nice pants but too small for me! By quincymd from Hill Country, Texas on 04/25/2008 Pros: High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Was advertised as having elastic in back of waist. It did not!
Had to return it. Did not fit my mature figure.
