Comments:
I am actually going to return these pants because I took them on a trip and wore them 4 times and they "pilled up" in the crotch area. Very dissatified with them. They were not my first choice on my purchase, but you were out of my size of the first choice I made and the sizes fit differently with different manufactures.

not for hiking
By doitallVerified Purchaser from hudson valley, ny on 12/19/2007
Pros:
Lightweight
Cons:
Front pockets too small, Rides too low on hips
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
i use convertable pants for in general traveling, hiking, and backpacking. the short front pockets make them useless. nor can i fit a map or anything in the back pockets. riding so low on the hips are bothersome with any pack (day or overnight), and plain uncomfortable for general wear. Too bad as they are a great light material & beautiful color

Nice pants but they run a bit big
By KristinVerified Purchaser from Durham, NC on 09/11/2007

Best Uses:
Backpacking, Camping, Hiking
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational

Feels true to length
Waist:
Feels too big
Bottom Line:

Comments:
The first pair I ordered was too big and too long, even though I measured myself and used the sizing chart. I like the pants, though - the zip-off feature is great. As a young person still concerned with not looking too dorky while hiking, I also like that the waist sits a little lower (more like my low rise jeans) than any other pair of zip-off pants I could find.

I love these pants. We travel to the Carribean several times a year and these pants are perfect for wearing on the airplane where it can get chilly. Once we arrive, we simply zip off lower 1/2, to convert to shorts and now we blend in perfectly with the tropical weather!
