The shoe is great; the fit is not! By Dog Walks all day long from New York City, NY on 10/22/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased the New Balance WW759 Women's Walking Shoe because of the high ratings it's received as a superior walking shoe.
They looked like the perfect shoe for me. I walk dogs all day long in New York City, and I walk hard and fast and in all kinds of terrain.
I ordered a 1/2-size larger than usual to allow for heavier socks. Going up a size turned out to be a good decision.
The problem is the right shoe fits perfectly...incredibly comfortable...great support...but my left foot is slightly larger than my right foot.
So the left shoe cramps my toes together, and it's been very painful to walk in these shoes for more than an hour or so, and I'm dealing with blisters and irritations...it makes me avoid wearing the shoes. I will have to wrap bandages on my toes until the left foot breaks in.
I wish shoe distributors would figure out a way to allow buyers to purchase separate sizes for the separate feet in a single purchase, i.e. a 9-1/2 medium for the right foot, and a 10 medium for the left foot.
So the shoe is great, but I recommend you order 1 FULL size larger if you've ever had a similar problem.
extremely comfortable walking shoes. By robin from ooltewah, tn on 10/21/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I walk two hours a day. By the time i was done with my walk, the balls of my feet would hurt. With this shoe, that problem has disappeared!
Good quality, good price but runs small By Angie, value shopper from Oak Ridge, TN on 10/01/2009 Pros: Ample toe box, Attractive styling, Great price, Sturdy Cons: Heel tends to rub, Runs Small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these shoes specifically to use for some light trail walking along a gravel road near my house, and they will do well for that. The toe box is ample, and the length is appropriate (I ordered a half-size up, as recommended). The shoes breathe well and are nicely padded. However, after the first wearing I had small blisters on my heels, despite what appeared to be excellent fit. I now wear longer socks to protect the back of my heels, and the rubbing has ceased. All in all, I'm well pleased with my purchase and expect to get a lot of use from it.
