Comments: These socks are soft and should last well because of the Cordura nylon in the soles. I wear a size 7 1/2 shoe, so I'm at the low end of the medium range. I ordered medium, but they seem too large and bunch up a bit when I slide into my slip-on shoes. They might be fine with lace-ups--which I haven't tried yet. I wish I had ordered a small. I seem to be needing size small in SmartWool socks (I have some smalls in other styles). As with all SmartWool socks, the toe seams are wonderfully flat and cause no pain. The cushioning is very good. If you are close to the small size, I recommend buying small rather than medium. But I think you'll love the socks!

Comments: Im on my feet all day, be it on concrete ,pavement or dirt. Have worn, tested many socks for durability and comfort. These socks not only wick moisture, but act as a cushion for your feet. They are thick but not heavy and most importantly, they very durable and thus a true economic value. Great product for year round activity. Oh and they make great stocking stuffers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments: I've done a lot of backpacking, where really heavy socks are common. These socks rely on terry padding to bulk them up. They're fine for most uses, but for backpacking I wouldn't use them without an inner layer.
