By Jumps In Her Boat from Grand Haven, MI on 06/27/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, Good Fit, High Quality, Stylish, Versatile, Washes Well Best Uses: On The Weekend, Outdoors Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Career, Casual, Classic, Eclectic, Sexy, Trendy Length: Feels true to length Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I bought this turtle neck for its lightweight quality. I am planning on using it on a wilderness cane trip into Canada. I want something that will cover my neck to keep the biting blackflies away.
I have worn it on a chilly day around town, and in my canoe, and I like it.
The only thing with these interlocking silk garmets is that after a day of wearing it in an outdoor activity, the armpits stink, and the odor can not be eliminated. This is the problem with these types of factors. It is a great item for outdoor activities. It can keep you cool or warm.

As soon as temps drop into the 40's, I pull out my turtlenecks ... and wear them alone, under sweaters or with "dressier" jackets. I absolutely love the wind-blocking effect.

It is very lightweight and thin, yet warm without being too hot.

Worked out really well.
I bought both a white one and a pink one. Haven't worn the white one yet, but feel certain it will work out as well as the pink one. Pink was a little darker than I had anticipated, but was okay.
By Fit at 50 from New York on 04/12/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, Good Fit, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Work Days, Comfort-Oriented, Great base layer, On The Weekend, To School, To Work Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Career, Casual, Classic Length: Feels true to length Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I have a collection of these turtlenecks. They are great base layers under blouses for business casual and casual wear. They are often too thin to wear alone, but add a little "shimmer" as a base layer. And they are very light for packing when I make business trips to cold climates.
The quality is sometimes inconsistent. The most recent set of 3 that I purchased were great. But the thickness, the neck fabric and the washability have varied by lot over the years. Some have been far too thin and sheer to wear alone, others are just fine.
I do wash them in a machine, but hang dry. They hold up for several washings.
I love them, and have restocked 3 or 4 times over the past 5 years with new colors and extras in black.
