I use it for nights and sleeping in a cold cabin -- does the job. Very warm and comfy. You hardly know you have them on.
I probably wouldn't wear these for sports such as biking or cross-country skiing; tights would be superior.
Size medium is too short for a skinny, tall person, but that is a minor gripe. Socks pulled up makes up the difference.
Good product at an excellent price.

Comments: here in the midwest, it gets mighty cold and as a photojournalist and outdoorsy kinda guy, i need warm base layers that can provide all day comfort. these gave me the warmth in spades but tended to gather at the waist under the belt line leavin me feel like i had a instant beer belly. they also lifted off the ankle and ended up fittin like a pair of capri undies. neither very comfy. if i didnt use long, warm, fleece socks id have cold legs.

First, the fit. Absolutely ridiculous. So much so that my girlfriend laughed uncontrollably for about 10 minutes when I tried them on. I'm not sure what kind of body these are meant to fit, but the ideal model would have to have a GIGANTIC rear end.
Having said that, these are meant to be worn under other pants. So take comfort in knowing that almost no one else will see you in them. They do their job well. They are warm and wick moisture well. In fact, they may be too warm. If I had to do it again I'd probably get the light weight version. Medium weight is just a little too much for me when I ski, unless it's super frigid.
