By Treadmill Mom from Boston, MA on 11/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Easy On/Off, Great Traction, Lightweight, Multi-Use, No break-in time Best Uses: Everyday/Practical Use, Hiking Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are very comfortable and fit right out of the box -- no wear-in time. I have a very narrow heel and have trouble finding a shoe that doesn't lift off at the back -- these are great and also fit orthotics easily. They are great for hiking or everyday walking. I also wear them on the treadmill. The only problem is that I liked them so much that I ordered another pair so I could have a spare. The new shoes (same size!) arrived, but seemed to be already used and returned by another customer because there were no tags on them. They were not as comfortable as the original pair (the left shoe in particular seemed defective), so I returned them. So the quality control seems poor.

Not one blister and did a 4 mile trail run the first day.
By Maria from San Luis Valley, Colorado on 08/05/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a terrible time finding good shoes for hiking. These were so similar in appearance to my good pair of trail running shoes (Salomon XA Comp 3 GTX), that I thought I'd give them a try PLUS they are the updated version of my favorite hiking shoe (Salomon Solaris Low). I found them to be very stable, water proof, and comfortable, even right out of the box. I did carry a heavy load (42 pounds), with the result being a bit of a sore ankle, but the sole is wide and stable, which helped. In a heavy rain storm, they did prove to be waterproof; however, because they are a low-cut shoe, I would recommend using a gaiter if you want to keep your socks dry. I highly recommend these!
