I love these pants for hiking By Gym Runner from Boston, MA on 08/03/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Quick-drying, Soft fabric, Very strong fabric Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'd give these 5 stars if they came up to the waist, but they do come up pretty high, by today's standards. Since there was only a Regular available in my size, & I need a short, I had to shorten them; this was easily doable.
I slid down a number of some very slippery rocks on these pants; they washed up good as new.
Really nice pants- uight in the crotch By Gym runner from Boston, MA on 07/19/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Other than the crotch, these pants fit perfectly. I've ordered a larger size and hope they will work.
By C from Jersey Shore on 07/17/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Beach, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are incredibly light and soft. Will take up no room in luggage, and wrinkles fall out. I said "mmm" when I unwrapped them. Possibly too light to wear for anything that's not really casual, though. The waist is med-low, and legs are narrowish. I usually wear a 6, but an 8 looks a lot better in North Face.
Versitility at it's best. By Hoofer from Palmer, Alaska on 07/14/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Work Nursing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Incredible comfort and comfort is the only thing I purchase anymore. These pants are also designed for function and make a wonderful nursing pant. They are an attractive cut giving you shape, not those straight leg baggy britches you usually find. Versatile, comfortable, attractive, high quality to summarize. Only miscalculation on design is the waist tie. It causes the front to pooch out.
By Martha from Berkley, MI on 06/29/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Packable Cons: Weird scratchy fabric Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I should have known not to order these -- NF pants tend to run small, and these are. I tend to really like other NF products, but these are going back.

Run very small.
By World Traveler from Central Coast, CA on 06/02/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Packable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants fit smaller than my other North Face pants. And the ripstop nylon that these are made of was too thin for my taste. I returned them.
By citigal from New York, NY on 05/29/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants are lightweight but comfortable and rugged. Rugged Go-to hiking pants By Maggie from Bloomington, IN on 05/21/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, No ripping Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these pants because I needed something that would hold up to a lot of use in thorny brambles, sliding down ravines etc They will not rip easily like other pants, in fact, they pulled the thorns off the plant. However, they do not offer much protection against scratches through the material. Dries quickly, doesn't absorb water easily, probably good in warmer weather (we'll see). I got regular length but shorter might've been better, I need to hem them. Also, the waist is kind of high, probably makes them even longer because I wear them lower. The waist cord is kind of strange to me, I prefer wearing a belt, but these don't have loops. Great pockets. These should last a long time.
