This won't protect like a U-lock, but it will discourage all but the most aggressive thieves. Perfect for locking in public places, can lock 2 bikes if used in the right circumstances. The plastic mounting bracket is tougher than it looks, and easy to side the lock on and off. This is a great buy for the price, and I've shopped around quite a bit.[...]

Quality is A+. It's a Master Lock after all. It will serve its intended purpose and that is to deter theft of my bike.

I'm not sure I'd use this on an expensive bike (the cable likely could be cut by a determined, well-equipped, thief) but it suits my old beater just fine.

The lock/cable appears to be missing a piece that would allow it to connect to the bracket.
