The metal ring does limit flexibility. They are just fine for puttering around the house and the footbed is comfortable.

Stylish and has a footbed with toebar like Birkenstocks. These are comfortable enough to wear every day and take long walks.

I ordered them the next full size up and they are just right. Having a wide foot I hade to stretch them a little and they may feel a little stiff for that reason. I would buy them again as they are quality shoes and are well worth the price.
