By nicky from md on 10/01/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Simple Best Uses: Indoor, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Getting Started Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: the harness itself is great - this is just a sizing note.. is too small if you order according to chart. i know that size charts are hardly consistent out there, but i generally order things in the 28-30 range & im fine, or womens pant size 7 or 9 depending on the brand & how i want it to fit. but this harness in the size 8, tho i could wear it - was definitely out to the max of its adjustment & super uncomfortable. so, order at least a size up, & if you are going to be wearing outside of bulky, wintering sort of things id order two sizes up. i ended up with a ten which is fine but id be a bit squished if i needed any sort of jacket underneath. the adjustment for the legs is fine but for the waist it really isnt that wide a range & kind of use the smaller measurement as your guide. other than that the harness is awesome, the package is at a great price & i actually already have recommended it to a friend.
A great deal on a great package By Jon from Reno on 07/22/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Double-back straps are less idiot-proof than the self-locking ones.
It's a great deal on a nice harness.
*GREAT* beginner package. By Crunchy Climber in the City from New York, NY on 07/17/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Simple Best Uses: Indoor, Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This was the climbing package that I started with 5 years ago. It really does have everything you need to get started, other than shoes (and once you get down to it, a few extra biners, slings, a rope, a helmet, maybe a rack, and a partner). The harness really is very comfortable. During long multipitches, I often forget that I have it on - that is, until I fall and find myself hanging by it. 5 years of very regular climbing (more or less twice a week, both in a gym and up in the Gunks, minus a couple month long dry spells) and a number of sizeable falls later, the harness is barely worse for the wear. And I still use the ATC that came with the package, too. I only wish that there were more gear loops on the harness, now that I'm climbing outside and using pro, but as a beginner, that's not something you'd need to worry about. I also think that later models of the Primrose harness do have more loops, so this might not even be an issue anymore. Overall, a fantastic package. It will get you started, and last you years.
