Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Goretex XCR is great stuff; water genuinely does not get in yet the shoes are not unduly hot. These shoes are fairly stiff. They are protective and stable for hiking on talus or scree, but I wouldn't have minded a little more cushioning. The web site said they ran a half size large so I ordered a half size smaller than I normally wear and they fit.
