I usually buy shorts at discount or on sale. These are as good as I have found anywhere. Esp breathability and padding.

These are my first bicycling shorts with padding. I rode 60 miles on the C&O canal tow-path on them on a hardtail. My butt was tender after that, but I don't think I could've done it at all without them. 100km rides on mildly bumpy bike trails elicit mild butt-aches by the end. I think I'd prefer a color other than black, but I'm not on a runway, so it hardly matters. I'd have given them a 5*, but it's hard to say they're great as I've never worn any others.
